VCO - Low Phase Noise VCO for Synthesizer Applications

Spectrum Microwave Model 96041 is an oscillator for use in synthesizer applications and was designed specifically for a severe military environment. This unit keeps the tuning rate constant over a wide tuning bandwidth without degrading the phase noise; the frequency band of 1.5 to 2.7 GHz is divided into four bands, allowing very linear tuning over each band. RFI feed-through capacitors are used for the DC voltages. A common tuning voltage is used to tune all four oscillators. The unit marking is engraved to endure all environments.

There are commercial designs available at lower costs. The commercial units use the same milled out housing and circuit boards; the semiconductors are hermetically sealed but not screened.
